Questions, answered.
Does Vast move or delete anything on its own?
No. Every tidy and every cleanup starts as a plan you approve. Anything Vast does can be undone: from the toast, with ⌘Z, or later from History.
Do my files go to an AI?
Only what's needed to understand them. Vast sends the text it needs, or a small preview, through our server to the AI model (Google Gemini, paid tier). We don't store or log it, and it's never used for training. Search by name and content runs entirely on your Mac.
Why not Spotlight?
Spotlight matches names and words. Vast knows IMG_4821.HEIC is your passport and Scan_0042.pdf is your lease. And Spotlight doesn't tidy your folders or tell you which 12 GB can safely go.
Can I use it on more than one Mac?
Yes. Sign in with Touch ID on each one. Your passkey is the key. It lives in your iCloud Keychain, so your encrypted cloud opens on every Mac you own. With Pro, they all stay in sync.
